Greer Spring

Greer Spring is located near the Eleven Point River in the Mark Twain National Forest.  The spring is the second largest in the Ozarks and is the largest spring that feeds the icy cool waters of the Eleven Point River.  The hike is just under a mile long and leads to one of the most secluded and undisturbed springs in Missouri.  The spring emerges at the bottom of a small narrow gorge.  The upper outlet flowing from a small cavern is only part of Greer Spring’s large flow.  About 100 yards downstream the main outlet boils to the surface in a beautiful deep aqua-blue color.  Greer Spring is a great spot to take a hot summer hike to as the air near the spring is cool and refreshing.
